Description

The South Tongue River has been managed as a wild (no stocking) trout fishery since 1991. Recent fish population estimates, conducted after stocking was discontinued, indicate that wild Rainbow, Brown and Brook trout populations range between 4,000 and 5,000 trout per mile, 65 to 75% of which are greater than 6 inches long.

Highway 14 to Prune Creek Campground and South on Forest Development Road 193. Also highway 14 to FDR 26. Fish downstream from Dead Swede CG.
