Cody - Horseback Riding

Horseback riding is a popular mode of backcountry exploration in the Cody area, and a number of wrangler outfits offer trips in the area ranging from easy half day treks to week long journeys. The Wapiti Valley, lying to the west of Cody and east of Yellowstone National Park, is a prime horseback riding terrain, convieniently located between two wilderness areas, the Absaroka to the north and the Washakie to the south. Visitors interested in horsepacking are encouraged to check with the Chamber of Commerce in Cody for a current list of horse-packing outfitters, their trip descriptions, pricing and the location of trips provided.
