Description

This is a remote area at the western end of the Laramie Mountains, on the Douglas Ranger District. The road leading into the area passes through the scenic LaPrele Canyon.

Basic Directions

From Douglas, follow Highway 94 (Esterbrook Road) for two miles, turn right on Chalk Buttes Road. After three miles turn left onto Highway 91 (Cold Springs Road)

After 25 miles, the pavement ends and the road becomes Converse County 24. Continue south and southwest on CCR 24 ( Cold Springs Road) for about 14 miles to the campground.
