Description

At Absaroka Mountain Lodge, horseback riding is our main activity! The trails on the Northfork of the Shoshone National Forest offer a variety of beautiful terrain. Sparkling river crossings, towering pines and breathtaking high mountain views all await your arrival. Choose a leisurely two-hour ride, or join us for an experience that will be a feast for your eyes as well as your stomach.

Our historic lodge was (built in 1910). Casual living and Western atmosphere await you in our rustic log cabins, each with a private bath and located along Gunbarrel Creek.

While horseback riding is our main activity, you can also enjoy fishing, basketball, sand volleyball, horseshoes, barbeque cookouts and evening campfires. We have a full service restaurant on site, a playground for your children, and an excellent babysitter on staff,(available upon request.)

We are only 12 miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park and 39 miles west of Cody, which makes us a perfect "home base" for all of your interests, whether they be excursions into the Park, hiking, whitewater rafting, or the many attractions such as the rodeo, the world famous Buffalo Bill Historical Center, or the many shops and art galleries that Cody has to offer.
