Yellowstone National Park - Boating

A day on a lake is a perfect way to absorb the majestic beauty of Yellowstone National Park at a slower pace than allowed by the frequently crowded roadways that bisect Yellowstone. Permits are required for all vessels, motorized and non-motorized including float tubes, and are available for a small fee. Outboards and rowboats may be rented at Yellowstone Lake and there are a number of concessionaire outfitters in Yellowstone that cater to visitors interested in guided canoeing, kayaking, and motorized boat trips. The rivers of Yellowstone are off limits to all boating. Visitors should consult with the ranger station for specific regulations that govern each body of water.
