The Sweet Ranch Trail starts at the Greendale Rest Area on Hwy 44 (just east of its junction with Hwy. 191) and follows a dirt road past historic Sweet Ranch and on to a fun downhill section (if sprinting it is probably not advised). The route becomes thinner as it enters a grove of aspen and crosses a few streams. The return entails a difficult 1-1/2 mile strenuous scramble of an ascent up to your starting point.
