Rawlins (pop. 8,500) is a small town off I-80 in southwestern Wyoming. Situated at the eastern end of a long stretch of mostly unpopulated desert, Rawlins is a common rest stop for road travellers looking for services such as food and gasoline.

Originally a Wild West railroad town, the area around Rawlins today is a center for agriculture, cattle and sheep ranching, and the oil industry.
