Pinedale - Boating

Fremont Lake, the second largest natural lake in Wyoming, is located several miles outside Pinedale to the north, and is accessed via the Skyline Road, a popular access road to the Wind River Range. Freemont Lake is a fjord left over from glacial action and is over 600 feet deep, fed by the crystal clear waters of the Wind Rivers and is renowned for its water clarity and purity. Waterskiing, sailing and sea kayaking are popular activities here and the lake is full of trophy sized mackinaw and trout. Visitors should check with the local Forest Service Ranger Station for more information on boating regulations on the lake.
